About Glanced

An independent educational site about sight, eye conditions and support in the UK. Clear sources, plain explanations and honest limits.

Who is behind Glanced

Glanced is built and maintained by the Omnirx.io team and funded by Medstack Ltd, a UK company (company number 16439872) which also runs the independent medicine price comparison sites Monj.co.uk, iGovy, Ogovy and Dayo. Glanced carries no advertising, no affiliate links and no sponsored content. Nobody pays to be listed here.

Editorial policy

Every guide is written from NHS, hospital and UK charity pages, and links to the pages used. Numbers, phone numbers and contact details are checked against the official page before publication and on each review. Where the evidence is uncertain or varies between people, the guide says so. A named editor and a clinical reviewer have not yet been appointed, and until they are, each page carries the line "not yet clinically reviewed".

Independence

The NHS organisations and charities linked from this site have not written or endorsed any of the pages. Glanced does not sell, prescribe or dispense anything, and does not recommend one provider over another. The medicine price sites run by the same company cover a different subject and are kept separate from this site's content.

Corrections

If you spot an error, an out-of-date contact detail or a broken link, tell us through the contact form or by post to Unit 2, Eden Court, Eden Way, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, LU7 4FY, United Kingdom. Corrections are made on the page and the "checked" date is updated.

How the content is organised

Each condition guide links to the parts of vision involved and to its source material. The same explanation of a visual function is reused across guides. No diagnosis, outlook or treatment is inferred from those links. There is no symptom checker and no diagnostic software.

Evidence and lived experience

Clinical descriptions cannot describe how any one person sees. The scene effects are teaching tools made on a screen. The site contains no invented patient stories, testimonials, professional credentials or review badges.

Accessibility statement

Reading settings offer larger text, three colour themes, extra spacing, a plain page layout and an option to hide demonstrations. All controls work with a keyboard. Nothing autoplays or flashes. Text and background colours are chosen to meet the WCAG 2.2 AAA contrast level for ordinary text. Full conformance has not been audited, and testing with screen readers is still to do. If something does not work for you, tell us through the contact form.

Images

The high street, the living rooms and the teaching illustrations are computer-generated pictures. They are not real patients, real places or reconstructions of anyone's vision. Photographs come from Pexels under the Pexels licence, with the photographer credited.

Keeping information current

Official service pages remain the place to check referral rules, opening hours and contact details. Every page shows the date its sources were last checked.

Page layout

Written explanations stay available when demonstrations are hidden. Browser zoom works as well. Nothing on the site moves or flashes on its own.
